Rivet nut, also known as blind rivet nut or rivnut, is a screw nut that can be used for riveting.
The structure can be divided into three parts, which are the thread zone, deformation area and Flange nut unit. It is noticeably that the Flange nuts sometimes are called heads, nut ears or front lips. Within the assembly, the deformation area will swell and transformed into an annular structure. Eventually, the objects will be clamped together tightly with the annular structure and the Flange nut unit and be fixed permanently.
